Kamikaze Finale Leg - London

Thursday, November 24, 2011 3 comments

Honestly, I do not know how to start. I am not going to do justice as I only have less than 48 hours in London to cover all the things u must do in London. So this is not valid for Tips in London or etc. But just for the sake of memoirs keepers I shall jot whatever necessary. The company booked us in Hilton Heathrow for our hotels located in T4, Heathrow. So, when I arrived from ABZ, I straight away checked in and set to explore London. Hubby is still in ABZ during this time wrapping up his meeting. I fly via British Airways and this is going to be fun.

Who would imagine stepping again with full adventure alone in London? My main mode of transport is Heathrow Express (15mins to London 32 quid return tix). There is another option of Heathrow Connect (30 mins cost u 20quid). Since time is an essence this extra 15 mins journey mmg i scrap. Tamak haloba kan.

Aim is Day 1 to do all the shopping for everyone. Amazing jugak 12 hours notification to all, byk jugak kiriman yang datang. And sorry I only accept those who come with cash. Akak pening u ols last minute nak cekau duit. :) So, shopping it is for today. So I covered everything. Walking, black public cab, tube, hop on off bus just to fulfill my childhood dream and shop.

Gambar pun takdelah semenggah sangat ambik sbb busy. :) I was in Selfridge till it closed. Beli Longchamp and Cath Kidston kat sini penuh 30kg bags of newly bought Samsonite. Tips: Go to Edgware Road(nearby Paddington. Eat in Melur. Accross Melur there's one Samsonite shop owned by our Ipoh born Chinese guy. Murah gila bag samsonite dia. When u are alone and rushing things can be rather intense. With heavy shopping bags, tired do not mess with me. I ended up buying more things. Mark and spencer tuh berapa kali ntah gi VAT counter and currency exchange. Lost count already. But M&S gave the best money exchange rate to me. :) TQ

2nd batch ..3rd 4th hehehehehhe u do not wanna see it :)
By 9pm, Oxford street dah takde manusia except shoppers in M&S and Selfridge. Thank God both stores open till this hours, most shops closed at 6pm. So, I strategized things lah. When limited time macam nih kan. Pergi independent shop dulu then only to those deparmental store. Since in Selfridge semua high end boutique pun ada so semua barang situ juga beli. So its easier to claim for VAT and etc. Semua receipt sekali harung shj.

Selfridge sebelah M&S aja

I took the cab to Paddington cost me roughly about 5 quid. Not bad. Took the train and reached hotel just in time to login to the net and pre-book our hop on off red bus tour for tomorrow. Book early so u get discount. :) And that night terus pack barang. We came with 2 bags and going home with 5 bags. ishhhhhh....

The next morning, we started early. 630am brekkie in hotel lounge. By 730 we already in Paddington. Hubs and I just took the tube to experience it and stopped in Victoria to catch the 8am tour on Hop on off bus. So lepas pusing satu London and all its landmark via the bus (Piccadilly, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham palace, big ben, london eye, thames river, knightbridges) we stopped at Marble Arch just nice kedai bukak. Jalan with hubs again along Oxford. Macam mimpi to stroll along London street just the 2 of us. Bila berenti depan Disney store menitik air mata teringat at the kids. Biol.  So borong toys pulak lagi. The kids are Cars2 overdose I think. I have 1 bag just for their toys and all Cars2 merchandise and it is dirt cheap in UK

Early morning in Hilton

coffee mmg takleh lepas sejukkk
kalau enlarge nih nampak la semua call me 1300 hahahahaha

We spent walking from one to another. Sejuk2 nih jalan mmg tak rasa penat sgt. so oklah gigih turun naik OXford, Bond st and etc.

happy betul cik abang saya

Then we continue walking to New Bond St. Feeling2 keluar masuk all those high end boutique. I didnt buy anything big just small consolation as my London souvenir. :) From Bond Street we move to Piccadilly area and cari Laduree. hehehe...walaupun I kind of get over the hype of macarons  but well. gediklah kan.

laduree and picaddily area
From there we hop on again the bus for another round of pusing and later we went to Harrods. Pusing dalam Harrods and going ohhh and ahhhh impressive. went to its food market get some chocs and whatever crap lagi ntah and we hail the cab and went to melur again.

Late evening meal in Melur. Survived on many cups of coffee, hot choc and donuts all day long. sejuk. From there, time to parted ways with hubby since his flight is late evening around 7 to Amsterdam and only KL.

And I was left another few more hours for more last minutes catch. Naik hop on off another round pusing the blue line and berhenti depan Primark shopping sikit2 lagi. Dah almost 7pm baru amik cab to Paddington. Sampai Heathrow pegi Hilton Lounge, repack barang I got the hotel to send me direct to T3. Que for my VAT refund and that kind of conclude my London escapade. Refrain myself not to buy anymore stuffs in Heathrow except for Harrods items yg rasa mcm tak cukup. And by the time I board the flight to DXB-KL, i could not help it but vow that I wanna come back again. With the kids insya allah.

Final note....Hubby dearie TQ for materializing this trip for me. And I owe my dad and Parents in law for the courage and help to take care of the kids. eceh sempat bagi speech. But seriously this is one of the best moment in my life.

ANd now stay tune for another travel updates...jeng jeng jeng.........

Large image: it will take sometimes

Well, since it will take me forever to get this done, I will just split the travelogue into 2 portion. (1) the Aberdeen visits and (2) the London calling. :)

We spent 2 nights in Aberdeen and while hubby is working I do all touristy stuffs and also shop. First thing, get a map and started to explore the city. The busiest street in Aberdeen is the Union Row St. where hubby's office also located at. The whole stretch of the road looks somehow similar. In case u didnt know, Aberdeen is famous for 2 things. 1. its granite. All building in Aberdeen is constructed by granite.
some of snapshots early morning in the city
Every single one and its super nice classic just how i imagine Scotland will be. Anyhow the granite industry has long stopped and I did get a chance to see the mining area which is now closed(somehow scary looking 500ft below) and those surrounding area now is developed into the house of all the giant multinational Oil & Gas player. The second (2) famous remark for Aberdeen, the city of oil and gas these days. The city is by the sea, there's busy port with vessel and ships carrying supplies of gas and what not.

port by the sea and haliburton gas pipe

I took the chance to visit Aberdeen Tourist Information Centre and they actually arranged a private tour for me for only 7quid. Blessed u. So, this almost 3 hours tours see me circling the city, witnessing its nice landmarks, parks, univercity, the old city, the oldest bridge, the farm, the golf town and etc. Some of the nice shots which very mesmerizing

Can i have this castle?

behind this cathedral there's a uni campus....scary jugak but the students happy aja jalan2 sini

The tour also bring me to some of the housings area and its park..Splendid. U can see more
i want a chic house like this

To witness the breeding and farmers also an eye catching...

And these is from PoundLand shop. Geram....

Pound Land shop...gerammm

And I had a chance to had dinner here with hubby. Nazma. Its one fo the best scottish restaurant and top 30 eateries in UK. Beriani dia kebaboom....

Part of the tour and eating and etc, off course I went crazy in Marks & Spencer, Primark, Debenhams all those UK shops nih la. No picture sbb dah busy kan....:) Put that aside lah. But overall I love this small chic town. Anyhow its super duper cold and in case we stayed another 2 days we may get to see the snow.

Jakun la kejap masuk M&S bertingkat2 nih kan

byk beli baju kids dlm nih...x sedar 2 diri

And in case u happened to be tersesat here, u can always spend ur early night in Union Square. All shops open till 8 pm. Adalah life compared to others shop which all closed at 6pm. (shopping tips ni). So this is where hubby and I will be menghabiskan our early night. Ada Zara, H&M, Next, Apple store, M&S, Dorothy Perkins, Clarks and few more shops. So kira just nice nak merepek dlm nih. The best part, its attached with the train station. I am this close nak pi Edinburg siang tuh hehehehe 75mins aja..And there's taxi stand nearby so teruslah cabut ke hotel bila poket dah kering & perut dah kenyang.

last minutes merembat...tak sedar diri badan dah penat and sejuk nak mati....

I think this kind of conclude my Aberdeen portion. I will continue with my London soon...

Toodles...
